Our Doctrines

Oasis Church Fort Meade is governed by the following doctrines.

1. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and that these alone constitute the divine rule of the Christian faith and the basis of conduct in our lives (2 Tim. 3:15-17, 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Pet. 1:21).

2. We believe that there is one God, who is infinitely perfect, Creator, Preserver, and Ruler of all things, and who alone is worthy of our worship (Deut. 6:4; Is. 43:10-11; Jn. 17:3).

3. We believe that there are three persons in the God: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, undivided in essence, and co-equal in Power and Glory (Matt. 28:19; 3:16-17; 2 Cor. 13:14; Jn. 14:16,17).

4. We believe that the person of Jesus Christ in his divine form and his human nature are united, therefore, He is fully God and fully man (Jn. 1:14; Col. 2:9; Gal. 4:4).

5. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, without sin and in perfect communion with his Creator, but that because of his disobedience he lost his innocence and purity, and that as a consequence of his fall all men have become sinners, totally corrupted, and as such are justly exposed to the wrath of God (Gen. 3:13-15; Rom. 5:12; 3:23; 6:23).

6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died for our sins, rose again on the third day from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, and that through this sacrifice he made atonement for the whole world, so that everyone who wants may be saved (John 3:16; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 2:2; 1 Tim. 2:1).

7. We believe that salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Man becomes a son and heir of God according to the hope of eternal life by the washing of regeneration, the renewing of the Holy Spirit, and justification by grace through faith (1 John 1:9; Acts 3:19; Gal. 2:20; 2 Cor. 5:17; Rom. 5:1; Eph. 2:8; Titus 3:5-7).

8. We believe that maintaining a state of salvation depends on faith and obedience to Christ through sanctification, which is an act of separation from all evil and consecration to God (Mt 24:13; Heb. 2:1-3, 4:6; 1 Thess. 5:3; 1 Pet. 1:16; Heb. 12:14).

9. We believe that we have been commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ to continue his work, fulfilling the Great Commission to preach the Gospel to every creature in the whole world (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15-20).

10. We believe in the immortality of the soul, the resurrection of the body, the rapture of the church, the second coming of Jesus Christ, the general judgment at the end of the world, the eternal happiness of the just, and the endless punishment of the wicked (1 Thess. 4:16, 17; Rom. 8:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Cor. 15:51, 52; Rev. 21:4, 8).
